Commercial funding for tourism: OeHT investment loan and sustainability bonus
table of content
General information
Funding is provided for investments in the tourism or leisure sector in the fields of:
- quality improvement;
- business-size optimisation, offer diversification and innovation;
- setting up and improving tourist infrastructure facilities;
- setting up or improving staff accommodation and other facilities for employees; and
- environment- and safety-related facilities and accessibility.
Funding is provided for investments in tangible and intangible fixed assets with eligible costs of between 500 000 Euro and 7.14 million Euro.
Basic funding consists of a subsidised investment loan from the OeHT of at least 350 000 Euro and a maximum of 5 million Euro (loan-to-value ratio of up to 70 percent of costs eligible for funding), with an interest subsidy from the federal government of up to 2 percent per year (10‑year term).
In combination with the subsidised investment loan, it is possible to apply for a ‘sustainability bonus’ for sustainability-relevant parts of an investment. This subsidy, amounting to 7 percent of the sustainability-relevant partial investment (but with a maximum of 350 000 Euro) is intended in particular to incentivise investments in the three fields of ecology (energy, resources, emissions), employees/regions (accommodation, vacant premises and cooperation) and the economy (business handover, digitisation).
Individual provinces grant follow-up funding to these federal funding instruments. Further information on this can be found on the OeHT’s product page (→ OeHT) .
